Games Appearing at E3 2013

2K Games

There won’t be a 2K Games booth on the E3 floor this year, the company has confirmed, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be at the show. In fact, 2K has confirmed it’ll be showing games behind closed doors instead of on the show floor — which might point to some new, unannounced titles. Meanwhile, these are the games 2K has mentioned in past log entries as being discussed at E3.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown (iOS)
WWE 14
Borderlands 2 DLC
Sid Meieir’s Civilization V: Brave New World
NBA 2K14
Bethesda

The Evil Within
The Elder Scrolls Online
Microsoft

Respawn Entertainment title (Rumored by Kotaku)
Nintendo

Mario Kart WiiU
Super Smash Bros. 4
Bohemia Interactive

ArmA III
DayZ retail release (This might be wishful thinking, but it seems about time Bohemia shows something about DayZ’s upcoming retail version)
CD Projekt RED

The Witcher 3
Electronic Arts

Battlefield 4
FIFA 14
Madden NFL 25
NCAA Football 14
NHL 14
Mass Effect 4 (speculation on our part, but we expect to hear something about BioWare’s next entry into the series
Dragon Age 3 (also speculation, but seems about time to hear some new details on the next Dragon Age title
New BioWare IP (one more piece of speculation, but we know BioWare is working on something new, and E3 is a great place for announcements
Ryse (Crytek’s new IP has been announced and we haven’t heard much about it since; E3 would be a good time to get it back on the public radar)

Square Enix
Square is running a pre-E3 press event and has confirmed a number of titles will appear at that event, either as demos or hands-on previews. This list reflects that pre-E3 show, as we expect to see most or all of the games at E3 proper, as well.

Saints Row 4
Thief
Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XII
Mudered: Soul Suspect
Saints Row IV
Final Fantasy XV

Call of Duty: Ghosts (The announcement trailer for Ghosts mentioned it would appear at Microsoft’s Xbox reveal event later this month)
Destiny
Deadpool
Konami

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain
Castlevania: Lord of Shadow II
Sega

Castle of Illusion
Total War: Rome II
Company of Heroes 2
Sony

Beyond: Two Souls
Killzone Shadow Fall
The Last of Us
Drive Club
The Last Guardian
Gran Turismo 6
Ubisoft

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Watch_Dogs
Rainbow Six Patriots
Flashback
Warner Bros. Interactive

Batman: Arkham Origins
Infinite Crisis
Transistor
Telltale Games

The Walking Dead 2 (this might be wishful thinking, but given The Walking Dead’s success, it seems likely we’ll see something new from Telltale)
The Wolf Among Us (the developer’s next project after The Walking Dead has been known for a while, and we expect new previews at the show)
Capcom

Remember Me
Ducktales (with the huge splash it made when it was announced, we can’t imagine Capcom would leave the Ducktales remake out of its E3 offering)
Namco Bandai

Dark Souls 2

Hotline Miami 2 (Dennaton doesn’t have a booth at E3, but has confirmed an off-site presence, complete with barbecue)

5 Games That Might Be Announced At Sony's E3 Presser

5. Kingdom Hearts III

Sure, there's a slim possibility that Tetsuya Nomura is still working on Final Fantasy Versus XIII, but let's face it: That game will never come out. I've got this sinking feeling that it has either been scrapped or rolled into Final Fantasy XV (which we'll get to in just a bit) so I'm inclined to believe that Nomura and his team at Square are plugging away at the next proper installment in the Kingdom Hearts series. Fans have had to deal with handheld spin-offs for far too long, and with the upcoming HD Collection, there's reason to think that KH3 is at the very least in the early stages of development. Sure, we'll probably get a second high-def collection with KH2 and before its release, but that doesn't mean Square has to hold back on the announcement.

4. Jak & Daxter 4

It has been an awfully long time since we've seen a new fully-fledged Jak & Daxter game thanks to Naughty Dog's success with the Uncharted series. Seeing as how half of the studio is currently focused on The Last of Us while the rest of the team is almost certainly slaving away at Uncharted 4 (which we'll also get to in a bit), perhaps Sony has handed off Jak to one of its other fully capable studios.

We know Naughty Dog considered making a fourth entry in the series a little while back to no avail, so maybe some fresh blood could revitalize the classic PS2 platformer. While so many games will undoubtedly chase realism in the next generation, it would be refreshing to have a quality Pixar-style experience.

3. Final Fantasy XV

In February, Square Enix took the stage at Sony's PlayStation 4 reveal and announced that the next installment in Final Fantasy would be unveiled at E3. Now that the company has sort of got the mess that was FFXIV figured out, perhaps we'll see the next proper entry in the long-running JRPG franchise. Final Fantasy XIII proved to be a major disappointment, and it doesn't look like the direct sequel approach is helping all that much either. What the company really needs to do (besides remake Final Fantasy VII) is use the new generation of gaming hardware to reboot the Final Fantasy franchise in some way. If the jaw-dropping tech demo they've shown off multiple times is any indication of what is to come, I'm sold.

2. Uncharted 4

Nathan Drake has basically become the face of PlayStation. For a while it was Crash Bandicoot, but after that annoying orange creature faded from relevancy, Sony struggled to find a memorable mascot. The treasure-hunting, smart-mouthed explorer has filled those gargantuan shoes and, as such, will most definitely be making an appearance on Sony's next-gen console sooner rather than later. The Uncharted games have proven to be impressive visual showpieces, so what better way to turn heads at E3 than with the reveal of Uncharted 4 for the PlayStation 4. Naughty Dog's second team has to be busy with something important...

1. The Last Guardian

While The Last Guardian appears to be in some form of development hell, there's reason to believe its massive delay has everything to due with the impending launch of the PlayStation 4. Sure, a Killzone and inFamous will be great for the PlayStation faithful on day one, but can you imagine the level of hype Sony would generate if they announced that The Last Guardian would be a launch title for the PS4? Need I say more?
