Estas son las mejoras del Firm nuevo que acaba de salir el 1.30
PLAYSTATION 3 Firmware 1.30
* Support for different color spaces: RGB, Y Pb, CB Page Ranking, Cr. Until now only the 16bit RGB rendering was used for Blu-ray movies. Now the higher quality models are supported, which results in a better picture quality.
* HDD Backup Utility. Before installing the OtherOS i.e. Linux, you can now backup your HDD bfore you do the repartitioning.
* HDD formating option. Do either a quick or full format on the HDD
* Support for custom resolution cascade. This fixes the issue with the down grading of the video output to 480p for instance in case of HD TV sets that don't support 720p.
* Support for the PS3 remote
* USB Support for PlayStation 2 Hardware like the Hori Flightstick / GT Force / GT Force Pro. Feedback is not supported with the latter devices
*
There will be a major firmware update coming in March (PAL launch of the PS3) that will further improve the machines capabilities in regards to its media center functionalities. Are we talking about LocationFree features here? Or does that mean that there will be finally a streaming capability from or to other network devices in your home?
*
The firmware update will also support a wide range of 3rd party applications that can be installed on the PLAYSTATION 3 like the recent Linux distributions. What could that be? Another outcome of the Open Platform initiative? Let's see.
*
He also talks about interactive controllers like on the Wii, which is interesting as the SIXAXIS controller is already some kind of incarnation of this. Or are we talking about the next generation EyeToy here?
*
Finally, at the PAL launch in Europe he speaks about 20 something launch titles we would see, which is quite a a portfolio for a console launch compared to what we have seen in the past. Actually, I begin to like the idea we are getting a refined and proven product in the first place.
